Position Summary:
The Finance - Budget Analyst plays a crucial role in the financial management of Claratel Behavioral Health. This position is responsible for assisting in the formulation, preparation, and modification of the organization's operating budget. The analyst will prepare various financial documents, reports, and analyses to support effective budget management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of the budget, including planning, development, and coordination with department heads.
  • Conduct monthly budget reviews to compare actual expenditures against the approved budget, providing insights on variances.
  • Analyze financial statements to identify discrepancies and prepare necessary adjustments.
  • Generate invoices for expense-based contracts and manage revenue recognition.
  • Identify potential financial issues and collaborate with management to propose solutions.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on budget allocations, expenditure trends, and variance analyses.
  • Review budget submissions and requests for funding, recommending improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Compile and submit monthly budget reports, collaborating with department leaders to refine objectives and monitor progress.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and recommend policy and procedural changes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Keep management informed of any developments at the state level that may affect departmental budgets.
  • Participate in research projects and assist departments with financial policy and procedure compliance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of the budget development process.
  • Familiarity with state contract and reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and explain financial data.
  • Proficient in financial systems and accounting software.
  • Ability to apply organizational policies and procedures effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet applications for accounting purposes.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Preferred: A minimum of two years of experience in fiscal analysis.
