Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a robust, externally funded research initiative within the Veterinary & Biomedical Sciences Department, focusing on food animal infectious disease mechanisms and prevention strategies, as well as diagnostic test innovation.
  • Offer research mentorship and opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.
  • Coordinate and instruct pathology courses within the Professional Program in Veterinary Medicine curriculum.
  • Deliver timely diagnostic pathology services for both mammalian and avian specimens.
  • Provide expert consultation and guidance to veterinarians and agricultural producers.
Qualifications:
  • DVM, VMD, or an equivalent veterinary degree.
  • Advanced graduate degree in veterinary pathology or a closely related discipline.
  • Completion of residency training in anatomic pathology.
  • Eligibility for or certification by ACVP or ECVP.
  • Proven ability to establish a funded research program.
  • Experience in teaching at the collegiate or professional school level.
  • Familiarity with food animal production practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
