Job Title: Senior AIX Administrator

Maximus is seeking a highly skilled Senior AIX Administrator to provide expert-level support to our federal client in the defense of our Homeland.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned AIX administrator with a strong background in architecting, configuring, patching, and upgrading Middleware Enterprise platforms. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AIX operating systems, hardware, and software, as well as experience with various software applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and configure AIX operating systems and servers
  • Plan, install, test, and implement upgrades and patches to AIX OS
  • Plan and coordinate the installation, testing, and maintenance of AIX systems-related hardware
  • Maintain technical artifacts of AIX hardware and software, including user and operator manuals
  • Develop SOPs to manage AIX security and operations
  • Plan and implement performance improvement initiatives for AIX system environments
  • Analyze software and hardware environments to determine any system defects and resolve system issues in a timely manner
  • Manage data backups and retrieval techniques in case of failure, redundancy, etc.
  • Ensure performance maintenance routines are carried out for continuous system availability
  • Assess system architecture and make recommendations as required
  • Work with managers and architects to implement disaster recovery procedures for continuity of operations
  • Provide operational metrics to support continuous improvement and SLAs/SLOs
  • Regularly solicit feedback and Hosted Applications requirements from customers and end-users
Requirements:
  • Active Secret clearance is required
  • Due to agency and contract requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens with no dual citizenship
  • This contract supports systems that require 24x7x365 uptime. Candidates must be willing and able to meet recall requirements, including participation in a rotational on-call schedule
Preferred Skills:
  • 12+ years of experience in architecting, configuring, patching, and upgrading Middleware Enterprise platforms
  • 5+ years of experience in administering IIS,.NET, WebSphere, Node JS, Apache Tomcat, and cloud native instances, Active MQ and IBM MQ Series
  • IBM Certified System Administrator - AIX is Required
Desired Skills:
  • Deep understanding of technologies related to infrastructure engineering
  • In-depth technical solution knowledge, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and problem solving
  • Experience in IBM Intel-base, IBM Power 8; Power System E880C
  • Experience in PowerShell, Bash, Perl, or Python to automate complex manual tasks
  • Basic knowledge of Java, Load Balancing, Application / JVM Tuning, Secure Certificates, and multi-tiered architectures
  • Familiarity with Linux-based and Windows-based OS is a Plus

Pay Transparency:

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment.

Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards.

Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off.

Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.

Annual Base Pay Minimum for this Position: $75,000.00

Annual Base Pay Maximum for this Position: $120,000.00
