We are seeking a highly skilled Charge Nurse 2 to join our team at Charleston Area Medical Center. As a Clinical Nurse II, you will play a critical role in coordinating and participating in the operations on an assigned shift and unit.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Coordination: Utilize the nursing process to coordinate and participate in the operations on an assigned shift and unit, ensuring a customer service and continuous quality improvement framework.
- Staffing and Scheduling: Perform staffing functions as delegated by the nurse manager, adjusting the schedule according to census and acuity, and authorizing overtime as needed.
- Quality Improvement: Assess quality/quantity of work in an ongoing manner, ensuring policy and procedure compliance, and providing feedback and assistance as needed.
- Education and Development: Orient and educate both new and current employees, reviewing documentation of education and following up as needed.
- Performance Management: Complete performance management and discipline procedures as delegated by the nurse manager.
- Customer Service and Relations: Demonstrate positive and professional customer service and co-worker relations.
- Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required) or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
- Experience: 2 years of nursing experience in area to be assigned
- Credentials: Registered Nurse (Required), Basic Life Support (Required within 30 days of hire), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Required within 1 year of hire)
