Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for obtaining high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position patients and provide immobilization devices to ensure accurate and safe imaging procedures.
  • Select and operate equipment as required for specific procedures, adhering to ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Collect relevant information from medical records, significant others, and healthcare providers to prepare protocols for scanning and patient safety.
  • Perform portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms, following operational procedures to ensure safe patient care.
  • Process and reconstruct images using available methods, maintaining accurate records and patient information.
  • Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist providers as needed in administering radiopaque mixtures to patients.
  • Perform administrative duties related to scheduling appointments, patient instruction, and maintenance of records.
  • Rend services and/or assistance to patients depending on individual needs and abilities.
  • Work scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends, and be available for overtime as needed to provide quality patient care.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, including Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent, with completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification, Diagnostic Radiography License, and AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Working Conditions

Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
