Job Summary

The Floor Care Specialist is responsible for restoring and maintaining hard surface and carpeted floors, as well as implementing assigned Environmental Services (EVS) projects. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a clean, healthy, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees through the use of appropriate asepsis techniques.
  • Clean occupied rooms, discharge rooms, offices, and common areas, including stocking paper and soap products.
  • Maintain carts and equipment according to guidelines.
  • Maintain the general appearance of floors, carpets, and furniture, and provide a clean, healthy, and safe environment.
  • Scrub, strip, and polish floors with a floor machine or electric roto, shampoo and extract carpets and mats, extract and clean fabric and vinyl furniture, and follow prescribed floor care procedures.
Requirements
  • One year of institutional cleaning experience, providing knowledge and experience with floor finishing and/or carpet cleaning.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate as required for the position.
Working Environment/Physical Requirements

This position requires continuous physical exertion, including walking and the ability to lift, push, or pull over 50 pounds, bending, and stretching, and other awkward physical movements. Exposure to blood and bodily fluids is expected.
