Seeking Housing First Coordinator for Tenancy Preservation Program

Eliot's Homeless Services Division is looking for a dedicated Housing First Coordinator to join our Tenancy Preservation Program (TPP). The TPP provides critical support to individuals facing eviction due to mental health or physical disabilities. Our team works closely with the Housing Court, including judges, mediators, and social service providers, to help tenants maintain stable housing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessments of clients referred by the Housing Court, Legal Services, and other authorized sources.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop individualized case management plans, identifying root causes of housing instability and coordinating treatment actions.
  • Link clients with necessary resources, including entitlement programs, housing services, and community support.
  • Maintain knowledge of local resources and effectively work with collaborative partners.
  • Work with Court-appointed Housing Specialists to resolve disputes between tenants and landlords.
  • Collect and report data as required by grant and funding sources.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Rehab Counseling, Psychology, or related field, or 2 years of experience working with homeless adults.
  • Master's degree in the Healing Arts or Education preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Housing Court systems, dispute mediation, and housing resources.
  • Ability to assess client needs and develop comprehensive service plans.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with high stress periods.
  • Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license required for outreach services.
