Housing Placement Manager Job Summary
The Housing Placement Manager at St. Francis House oversees the daily operations of the Housing Placement Team, providing direct support to clients and ensuring they have pathways and supports needed to connect with permanent housing opportunities.
Using a Housing First, person-centered and trauma-informed approach, the Manager guides a team of Assessors and Navigators to serve those with the highest barriers to housing, ensuring all services provided adhere to program and agency expectations.
The Manager is responsible for developing program policies and guidelines, overseeing program compliance with pertinent policies, laws, and regulations, and responding to inquiries from external organizations, agencies, and the City of Boston's Office of Housing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day management of program activities, including client matches through the Coordinated Access System, reducing any housing barriers, creation of individualized housing plans, housing location, coordination of move-ins, linkages and referrals to appropriate service providers.
- Design, develop, and implement management practices and protocols of the Housing Placement Team, including program guidelines, service delivery benchmarks and outcomes.
- Serve as first point of contact for Housing Placement staff needing supervision or intervention, providing consistent supervision, guidance, and constructive feedback to direct reports.
- Document all services in designated internal and external databases to ensure accurate records are maintained.
- Establish and monitor recordkeeping protocols, implementing program quality assurance practices regularly.
- Act as the primary point of contact during monitoring visits by funders, ensuring all contract requirements are met.
- Submit monthly expenditure tracking to designated Housing and Finance leadership.
- Serve as liaison between the referral agencies, service providers and other stakeholders for Housing Placement and develop a positive relationship with community partners.
- Represent agency at community events and meetings and serve as the Housing Placement Program's primary contact to internal and external partners.
Requirements:
- 5 years of relevant work experience in human services setting serving vulnerable populations OR a bachelor's degree in humans services with 2 years of relevant experience required.
- Experience working with homeless individuals providing street outreach, housing search, placement, and stabilization case management in a direct care or supervisory/management role.
- Supervisory experience with demonstrated skills in staff coaching, team building, and training.
- Knowledge of Boston Continuum of Care and Homeless Initiatives a plus.
- Lived experience with homelessness and/or recovery a plus.
