Job Summary

VadaTech Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Quality Inspector to join our team. As a Mechanical Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for performing various inspections of sheet metal, machines, powder coat painted parts, weldments, and other mechanical fabricated parts and assemblies using manual, digital, and automated inspection equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical inspections of machined parts, sheet metal parts, and other mechanical items
  • Conduct inspections using handheld CMM (Keyence XM5000), 3D scanner (Keyence VL700), and optical profilometer (Keyence VR6000)
  • Operate calipers, micrometers, pin gages, thread gages, and height gages, and know the proper application of each inspection tool
  • Perform welding inspections per industry and print requirements
  • Conduct in-process inspections on the manufacturing floor
  • Inspect powder coat parts per ASTM standards using various inspection equipment
  • Review certifications on inbound product from suppliers (both raw materials and outside processing)
  • Generate non-conforming material reports and other quality reports as required
  • Collaborate with production and engineering to resolve any noted quality issues/nonconformances
  • Maintain production efficiency levels by quickly and accurately processing product and inspections
  • Interpret engineering drawings, with an understanding of GD&T ASME Y14.5
  • Familiarity with AS9100/ISO9001 requirements and standards is a plus
  • Able to perform data entry and navigate an ERP system, with experience with ProShop a plus
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience, preferably with metal parts
  • Experience with Keyence XM, VL, and VR equipment is a major plus
  • Knowledge of geometrical dimensioning & tolerance, in accordance with ASME Y14.5
  • Experience working in an ISO/Aerospace environment is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision to meet deadlines
  • Hard working and a desire to learn
  • AWS Certified Weld Inspector is a plus
