At NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, we are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists in preparing outpatient prescriptions, managing inventory, and maintaining patient profiles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists with preparing outpatient prescriptions, batching sterile and/or non-sterile preparations, and managing inventory.
  • Maintain patient profiles, process prescription claims, and interact with patients.
  • Collect medication history and allergy information from patients and accurately document in the electronic medical record when applicable.
  • Maintain all quality assurance data and procedures associated with the non-sterile and sterile preparation area and product prepared.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • New York State Pharmacy Technician License
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification via PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) and in good standing with Continuing Education hours required during certification period
  • Basic computer literacy

Preferred Criteria:

  • One year of experience in hospital or community pharmacy practice setting

Work Environment:

This is a full-time night shift position 10:00pm-6:00am or 11:00pm-7:00am including rotating weekends/holidays located at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
