We are looking for a skilled Regional Infrastructure Analyst to become a vital part of our energetic team and ensure excellence in our virtual computing environments across various regional locations. In this position, you will play a key role in maintaining our virtual infrastructure at optimal performance while addressing the changing demands of our application stakeholders and clients.
As a Regional Infrastructure Analyst, your responsibilities will include offering expert guidance on virtual infrastructure to enhance efficiency and cater to diverse client requirements. You will continuously explore and integrate new technologies, install, configure, and maintain Windows-based servers, including both operating systems and hardware. Additionally, you will manage VMware and Citrix environments, conduct network troubleshooting, and provide client-server support. Your role will also involve overseeing vendor relationships, managing procurement, and handling budgets for virtual computing and storage hardware. Be prepared to perform tasks outside regular business hours, work on weekends, and be on call periodically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with application stakeholders to provide virtual infrastructure expertise that maximizes efficiency and meets client needs.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies that could enhance and streamline regional operations.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and hardware on Windows-based servers.
- Demonstrate troubleshooting skills in VMware, Citrix, software, network, and general client-server environments.
- Manage vendor relationships, procurement, and budgets for virtual computing and storage hardware.
- Support local storage environments, including NFS (Network File System) and SMB (Server Message Block) administration, as well as disaster recovery solutions.
- Assist in implementing technologies for SCADA operations.
- Collaborate with Global Service Desk and central support teams to provide seamless user support.
- Participate in Follow the Sun support for global infrastructure environments.
- Be available for tasks outside normal business hours and on weekends, as well as being on call periodically.
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
- High school diploma.
- 2 or more years of operational experience with VMware and ESX operating systems, including architecture, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
- 4 or more years of operational experience with Windows or UNIX server operating systems, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
- Understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and DFS.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
- Experience with AWS and Azure cloud services.
- Setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of server hardware, including RAID, mirrored disks, and SAN/NetApp.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other IT/IS-related fields.
- Understanding of WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, and WINS.
- Knowledge of remote support concepts and tools.
- Operational experience.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across different time zones and geographical locations.
