Key Responsibilities
• Conduct thorough investigations to determine patient eligibility for medical assistance payment programs.
• Interview patients, families, and healthcare providers to gather information and verify billing data.
• Collaborate with social services and insurance carriers to obtain necessary information and resolve billing disputes.
• Analyze medical charts and patient account records to ensure accurate billing and coding.
• Respond to patient inquiries and resolve billing issues in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, or an Associate's degree with a certificate in medical billing, is required. Two years of experience in interviewing, investigation, or a related field, with a strong understanding of medical billing and coding, is preferred.
