About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Healthcare Investigator Professional at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan. In this critical role, you will be responsible for verifying insurance eligibility and benefits for patients, conducting comprehensive system checks, and submitting authorization requests for imaging services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient insurance information and communicate with providers regarding authorization status
  • Conduct thorough system checks for uninsured patients or those without identified insurance
  • Submit online authorization requests to Evicore/insurance companies for scheduled imaging services
  • Facilitate public health insurance screening and enrollment for uninsured populations
Requirements
  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; or
  2. An Associate's degree from an accredited college or university; and completion of an accredited certificate program in medical billing; or
  3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent; and completion of an accredited certificate program in medical billing; and two (2) years of full-time experience in interviewing, investigation, or a related field
