Position Summary:

As a Maintenance Associate, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the agency's facilities and grounds, ensuring a safe and clean environment for both clients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate basic to intermediate skills in construction, including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and drywall. HVAC experience is a plus.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks on the interior and exterior of buildings, such as replacing light bulbs, repairing doors and windows, changing ceiling tiles and filters, painting, and other general maintenance duties.
  • Utilize a variety of hand, power, and specialized tools for plumbing, painting, carpentry, and ventilation tasks.
  • Reconfigure and install office and classroom furniture, work surfaces, storage solutions, lighting, and filing systems to optimize space.
  • Maintain cleanliness and aesthetics of facility grounds and parking areas, promptly reporting any maintenance or safety concerns to your supervisor.
  • Review daily work order priorities to ensure efficient task management.
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown as needed.
  • Work safely and identify unsafe conditions, taking appropriate actions to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
  • Maintain and care for equipment used on the grounds.
  • Clear snow from walkways and driveways, apply salt as necessary, and manage landscaping tasks including mowing, trimming, planting, and debris removal.
  • Participate in operational coordination for events as required.
  • Conduct inspections as directed to ensure compliance with operational procedures.
  • Assist in the transportation of agency donations.
  • Be available for emergency calls as needed.
  • Exhibit regular and punctual attendance.
  • Complete required training and development hours as mandated by organizational policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of five years of experience in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, drywall, or HVAC is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Preferred certifications in relevant construction skills, or at least five years of experience in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, drywall, or HVAC.
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Ability to reach above shoulder level.
  • Experience operating moving mechanical parts.
  • Ability to walk, bend, and drive as needed.
  • Awareness of potential risks such as electrical shock or vibration.
