Trinity Health is seeking a skilled Acute Pain Service Registered Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our inpatient Acute Pain Service team, you will work alongside anesthesia providers and nurse practitioners to provide pain relief interventions for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Assist providers in the advanced assessment of pain and management of regional anesthesia administration devices
- Carry out nursing orders specific to regional anesthesia for patients evaluated by the Acute Pain Service provider team
- Provide direct patient care for Acute Pain Service patients according to established nursing policies
- Assess changes in patient status and communicate with supervising providers for routine and emergency interventions
- Assessment, troubleshooting, and discontinuation of epidural and regional anesthesia catheters
- Programming and management of regional anesthesia administration devices
- Patient and family education regarding regional anesthesia administration devices and multimodal pain management
- Discharge teaching and post-discharge follow-up with patients and their care team
- Strong knowledge base in surgical and/or critical care nursing
- Ability to work collaboratively with anesthesia providers and nurse practitioners
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Ability to assess and manage patient pain effectively
