Senior Building Engineer

CBRE is seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, and installations of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and/or HVAC equipment, machinery, and controls.
- Monitor building system operations and performance, and identify areas for improvement.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Operate, maintain, monitor, and perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on building equipment, including mechanical/HVAC/plumbing systems, electrical/cabling, fire detection and suppression, life safety, lighting, temperature control systems, building management systems, and digital systems.
- Prepare estimates detailing the amount of time and materials needed for completing tasks, and maintain adequate supplies and tools.
- Oversee and inspect the work performed by outside contractors, and ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards.
- Perform specialized and complex tasks, such as carpentry, electrical, painting, roofing, HVAC, welding, furniture assembly/relocation, and locksmith tasks.
- Use PC and/or PDA for work order system, email, ESS, and training, and respond to emergency situations and customer concerns.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and eight or more years of experience in electrical systems, refrigeration, and/or HVAC.
- Universal CFC certification required, and additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and analytical skills, and ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
- Ability to calculate intermediate figures, such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions, and conduct basic financial analysis.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents, and solve problems involving several options in situations.
Working Conditions:
The Senior Building Engineer will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme temperatures. The position will also require the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
