Job Title: Peer Counselor

Project Renewal is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Peer Counselor to join our team. As a Peer Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness, mental health, and substance use challenges.

Job Summary:

The Peer Counselor will provide essential support services to clients, including escorting them to medical appointments, conducting home visits, and assisting with everyday activities. You will also facilitate groups for clients, conduct bi-annual housing inspections, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Escort clients to medical appointments, benefits appointments, and other appointments as needed
  • Carry a small caseload and conduct home visits with clients
  • Assist clients with everyday activities such as grocery shopping and money management
  • Facilitate groups for clients at the office
  • Conduct bi-annual housing inspections and view potential new housing units
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation and complete case notes in a timely manner
  • Attend and participate in all staff and team meetings, and in-service training, case consultation with interdisciplinary staff
  • Assist with front desk lunch coverage (1-2 hours per week) and as needed
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and experience with homeless population required
  • Strong time management and writing skills
  • Spanish Fluency preferred
  • Valid Driver's License is a Plus
