Nutrition Specialist for Transplant Patients

Job Summary

As a Registered Dietitian in the Transplant Department, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nutritional care to patients undergoing heart transplant. You will assess patients' nutritional needs, develop and implement personalized care plans, and educate patients and their families on disease-specific nutrition needs. You will also participate in transplant meetings and committees, and serve as a resource person on nutritional care for pre- and post-transplant patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' nutritional needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Provide education on nutrition for patients and their families
  • Participate in transplant meetings and committees
  • Serve as a resource person on nutritional care for pre- and post-transplant patients
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care

Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nutrition or related field
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) certification
  • 2 years of experience in transplant nutrition
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with heart transplant patients
  • Knowledge of ICU/Critical Care needs
  • Knowledge of Cystic Fibrosis care needs

Special Conditions
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs
