Connecticut Children's is seeking a seasoned Nurse Manager to lead our Behavioral Health Unit. Responsibilities

As a Nurse Manager in our Behavioral Health Unit, your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Department Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities and operations of the department, ensuring adequate staffing levels and effective resource management.
  • Clinical Practice**: Provide safe, appropriate patient care according to Connecticut Children's policies and standards, demonstrating clinical expertise and using the nursing process to guide decision-making.
  • Patient/Family Partnership & Education**: Partner with patients and families to evaluate outcomes, monitor trends, and provide education on all aspects of care.
  • Quality Improvement**: Demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvement, leading changes processes and collaborating with the behavioral health quality improvement activities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:
  • A BSN degree, with matriculation into a Master's degree program within 2 years of hire if applicable.
  • At least 5 years of relevant nursing experience, with a minimum of 2 years' clinical experience in pediatrics, emergency, and/or behavioral health settings.
  • Management experience is strongly preferred.

Benefits
