Position Overview:
This is a faculty opportunity at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor in the field of Cardiology.
The Department of Clinical Sciences within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking qualified candidates for a faculty role in Cardiology. This position can be clinical or tenure track, and applicants are not required to specify their preferred track at the time of application. The department is dedicated to establishing a premier Cardiology service that emphasizes excellence in both clinical and educational realms, and we welcome individuals who share this commitment.
Responsibilities will include providing specialized cardiology services to a diverse range of animal patients, including small, large, and exotic species. Teaching duties will encompass both clinical and theoretical instruction for veterinary students and residents. The development of an ACVIM-approved residency training program is highly encouraged, along with opportunities for advanced training and the establishment of an interventional or surgical cardiology program. Faculty members are expected to engage in scholarly activities, with varying expectations based on clinical or tenure track appointments. The department acknowledges that outstanding faculty scholarship can emerge from clinical and educational endeavors, as well as from traditional independent and collaborative research initiatives.
Kansas State University is a prominent land grant institution with a vibrant student body. The College of Veterinary Medicine enrolls a select group of students annually, supported by a robust alumni network and referral base.
The starting date for this position is flexible. The rank of the professorship will be determined based on the candidate's academic background and achievements, in accordance with departmental guidelines. Compensation will be aligned with the applicant's experience and qualifications, and there is potential for federal student loan repayment.
