About the Role

The Maintenance Supervisor is a key member of the Balfour Beatty Investments team, responsible for overseeing the daily activities of a team of maintenance technicians, roads and grounds crew, and vendors/contractors for a residential community. The successful candidate will ensure that company standards of quality workmanship and customer service are met for change of occupancy maintenance, resident, and property work order requests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the assigned team and supervise lead maintenance technicians.
  • Perform maintenance job duties similar to technicians as needed.
  • Direct mechanics, technicians, and outside contractors on assigned projects.
  • Control inventory of parts and equipment.
  • Coordinate all maintenance-related/contractor activities.
  • Monitor and facilitate the completion of quarterly, bi-annually, and annual preventative maintenance logs/schedules.
  • Ensure the successful execution of all company safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform weekly ZeroHarm training to the entire asset team.
  • Update all SHRM (Safety Health & Risk Management) logs in accordance with Balfour Beatty Regulations.
  • Deliver the highest level of resident satisfaction through responsive, consistent, positive, and professional interactions.
  • Work a rotating on-call schedule to have 24/7 maintenance coverage.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preference will be given to technical school trainings or certifications.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience, multifamily/student housing preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
  • Advanced knowledge in at least one of the following disciplines: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry.
  • Ability to diagnose problems and implement repairs.
  • Ability to perform Quality Control on work and repairs completed.
  • Demonstrated ability to train on skill trades.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to provide guidance and training to less senior technicians.
  • EPA 608 Universal required.
  • Certified Pool Operator may be required.
  • Valid and clear Driver's license.
  • Preferred degree/license/certification(s) in at least one of the following: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Appliance Repair Certification or Carpentry.
  • Preference given to those who have CAMT or APPA.
