Position Overview

The QUIKRETE Companies is on the lookout for qualified candidates to fill multiple positions for Laboratory Technicians at our state-of-the-art Engineering & Technical Center.

As a key contributor, you will play a vital role in the advancement of The QUIKRETE Companies by developing and innovating construction materials that enhance the built environment. We are recognized for our excellence in packaged concretes, mortars, and grouts, alongside a strong presence in the CASE sector, which includes waterproof membranes, sealants, and various coatings. These positions will primarily support our Custom Building Products and QUIKRETE product lines. We welcome both entry-level and seasoned laboratory technicians to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety protocols at all times, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Prepare test samples by mixing formulations according to specified guidelines.
  • Conduct tests on chemical and physical properties of samples utilizing both standard and non-standard procedures.
  • Maintain meticulous records in laboratory notebooks and spreadsheets.
  • Communicate findings clearly and effectively.
  • Ensure the laboratory environment is organized and clean, adhering to 5S principles.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A vocational, 2-year, or 4-year degree in science, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered. Advanced degrees are not suitable for this role.
  • 0 to 3 years of relevant laboratory experience, particularly in the production of cement, concrete, coatings, or related construction materials.
  • Demonstrated motivation, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills are essential. Precision in testing and record-keeping is critical.
  • A solid understanding of basic science and mathematics, including simple algebra and unit conversions, is necessary.
