Job Overview

Salary: $16.50

We are seeking a dedicated material handler for various shifts:

1st Shift: Monday - Friday from 8am - 4:30pm

2nd Shift: Monday - Friday from 4:30pm - 3:00am - includes a $2 shift differential

C Shift: Friday - Sunday from 6am - 6pm - includes a $4 shift differential

Key Competencies:

  • Awareness of production demands to reduce downtime while adhering to safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Execute tasks such as labeling, sorting, organizing, wrapping, packing, or re-packing materials.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace to ensure safety, compliance, and integrity of products and materials, including assigned sanitation duties.
  • Communicate effectively with relevant personnel regarding quality, food safety, and product/material safety.
  • Operate forklifts or other powered lifting equipment.
  • Keep certifications current and participate in all training related to material handling equipment.
  • Collectively responsible for compliance with GMP's, OSHA, USDA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Must be physically capable of standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying up to 15 pounds, squatting, bending, twisting, and possessing visual acuity for quality inspections. Ability to work at heights may be required, with occasional lifting of up to 60 pounds.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
Material Handler Duties:
  • Supply multiple production lines with raw materials and facilitate the removal of finished products for storage or shipping.
Material Handler with CDL Responsibilities:
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing items to confirm accuracy of identifying information, checking for damage, shortages, or overages, and report issues to the Materials Supervisor.
  • Transfer product loads while ensuring quality and count to and from off-site warehouses.
  • Basic skills in reading, writing, math, and sequences, along with fundamental computer proficiency, are required.
  • Efficiently load and unload trucks in shipping and receiving areas or off-site warehouses.
  • If performing as a CDL Driver, maintain a current and unrestricted Commercial Driver's License for tractor trailers and adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Successful completion of a Vocational Rehabilitation Program
  • Material handling or shipping/receiving experience is advantageous
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience operating powered forklifts
  • Completion of Forklift operation training
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type and personal vehicle insurance if driving company vehicles.
  • Note: A valid state driver's license must be obtained within a specified period if the current license is from another state.
