About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our dynamic inpatient team in a critical care setting. As a valued member of our healthcare team, you will play a key role in team-focused patient care, conducting thorough examinations and evaluations in medical/surgical settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medical Decision-Making: Use your expertise to determine appropriate patient care plans, collaborating with critical care physicians in Specialty Intensive Care Units.
  • Critical Care Procedures: Perform physical assessments, manage a broad range of critical illnesses, and conduct common critical care procedures, including insertion of central venous catheters, dialysis, arterial line placement and monitoring, and endotracheal intubation.
  • Patient Care Coordination: Coordinate clinical care between intensivist and consulting teams, counsel patients and families on illness details, care, and decision-making processes, and prepare patients and families for discharge from the ICU.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the medical team for effective team-based care, participate in basic science and clinical research projects, and precept students and/or medical learners.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Function under the regulatory mandate from your respective licensing organization (North Carolina Medical Board or North Carolina Board of Nursing) with departmental specific credentialing from the institution.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program (Master's Degree preferred) or accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program (Master's degree or higher required).
  • Licensure: Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License (Certified by NCCPA) or Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in a critical care or urgent/emergent care environment.
  • Certifications: Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) certification, Current BLS and ACLS certification.
