Key Responsibilities:

As an integral member of our healthcare team, the PA/NP will be pivotal in delivering patient-centered care, performing comprehensive assessments in medical and surgical environments. The selected individual will provide thorough inpatient consultative care services. Key responsibilities include:
  1. Utilizing clinical judgment to formulate appropriate patient care plans.
  2. Collaborating with the medical team as necessary for effective, team-based care.
  3. Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures, while explaining the necessity and anticipated outcomes to patients.
  4. Performing procedural skills in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  5. Engaging in basic science and clinical research initiatives.
  6. Encouraged to mentor students and medical learners.
  7. Upholding the missions, values, and cultural commitments of AHWFB.
  8. Executing other related duties as required.
The clinician operates under the regulatory framework set by their respective licensing authority, with specific credentialing from the institution.

Qualifications for Physician Assistant (PA):
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; a Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Current Medical License from the North Carolina Medical Board, certified by NCCPA.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in an infectious disease care setting.
  • BLS certification is required.
Qualifications for Nurse Practitioner (NP):
  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program; a Master's degree or higher is required.
  • Current Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in an infectious disease care setting.
  • BLS certification is required.
