About the Role

The Hartford is seeking a skilled IT Systems Analyst to join our Finance and Accounting team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for bridging the technical gap between our core IT resources and business teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the technical liaison between IT resources and Finance business teams.
  • Gather and document requirements for various projects, primarily data-focused.
  • Produce necessary project artifacts, including use cases, technical specifications, and source-to-target mapping documents.
  • Work closely with business units to gain a deep understanding of their processes and translate their needs into technical requirements.
  • Build and maintain critical data flows using Alteryx tools to integrate data sets between external databases, finance applications, and other systems.
  • Collaborate with the IT Project Manager dedicated to Finance efforts to support the business and execute on key initiatives.
  • Participate in all phases of the SDLC, including Requirements Definition and Documentation, Systems Analysis and Design, System Integration, User Acceptance Testing, and Deployment Coordination.
  • Identify candidate business processes for re-design, prototype potential solutions, and provide trade-off information.
  • Create written communication materials that effectively summarize findings and support recommendations.
  • Translate data results into written reports, tables, graphs, and charts to convey information to management.
Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience in a Business Analyst role, documenting business and technical requirements.
  • Data warehouse experience is required.
  • Candidate should be equally comfortable interacting with both technical and business resources.
  • Proven ability to participate in or manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think from a business and technology standpoint.
  • Candidate should be self-motivated and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to confidently and efficiently communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Some experience as a Product Owner or strong desire to own efforts.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills critical to successfully execute on multiple, parallel initiatives.
  • Very proficient at Word and Excel and proven ability to learn new software tools.
  • Significant Alteryx experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with the Anaplan system is preferred.
  • Expertise and fluency in SQL language is required.
  • Experience gathering requirements on ETL projects is required.
  • Experience working with system vendors is preferred.
  • Proven experience with Tableau is preferred.
