Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Alfred University. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing: Sweep, mop, wax, and polish floors, dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment, wash windows and walls, and vacuum, spot clean, and shampoo carpets.
  • Waste Management: Empty and clean waste receptacles, and change light bulbs.
  • Supply Management: Clean and maintain supplies in restrooms, and move and arrange furniture and equipment.
  • Pool Maintenance: Clean and disinfect the pool area, and add pool chemicals as necessary.
  • Safety and Security: Participate in safety training, comply with safety rules, regulations, and protocols, and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Additional Duties: Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 months working as a professional custodian.
  • Skills: Knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and operation of power floor scrubbers.
