Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute food preparation processes, defining necessary steps and delegating tasks to kitchen personnel.
  • Evaluate food quality through sampling and sensory analysis to ensure adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of quality benchmarks and portion control, ensuring compliance in food service.
  • Monitor kitchen staff productivity and ensure that all team members remain focused on their assigned duties.
  • Manage inventory levels through effective ordering and monitoring practices.
  • Oversee inventory control, including ordering supplies and utilizing food surplus to optimize resources and manage costs.
  • Maintain accurate daily production records and inventory documentation.
  • Monitor kitchen environmental conditions, including food storage temperatures and sanitation standards, maintaining necessary records.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions in all work areas, meeting or exceeding health department standards.
  • Conduct end-of-shift inspections to verify cleanliness and security of the facility.

Qualifications:

  • Two to four years of culinary experience in the food service industry, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of food products and production processes.
  • Basic mathematical skills for recipe calculations and production management.
  • Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional sitting.
  • Constant standing.
  • Frequent walking and bending.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 50 lbs.
