Job Title: DWM Engineering Services Manager

Join the City of Atlanta as a DWM Engineering Services Manager and take on the challenge of managing the construction of capital infrastructure projects for the Department of Watershed Management Facilities and Conveyances.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating design, plans, and scheduling of capital infrastructure projects, assisting in the development of scopes of work, and reviewing cost estimates for projects while maintaining compliance with state and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate design, plans, and scheduling of capital infrastructure projects
  • Assist in the development of scopes of work and review cost estimates for projects
  • Manage capital transportation, roadway, and trail projects for the City
  • Direct project field inspection and field engineering staff to ensure project deadlines are met
  • Review permit applications for appropriate erosion control measures, proper sewer connections to the public sewer, and proper grading and drainage of proposed work
  • Work closely with the Capital Improvement Project Team to ensure project goals are met
  • Establish project goals based on user needs and expectations
  • Develop and implement a project management plan that includes project scope, budget, and schedule
  • Establish and maintain partnering or a formal management process to eliminate conflicts and litigation
  • Manage resources to ensure budget and schedule objectives are achieved
  • Ensure quality by developing a quality management plan that outlines quality processes to be followed throughout the project
  • Monitor and verify delivery of services and costs to ensure project objectives are met
  • Represent the City of Atlanta as the owner's representative Field Project Engineer for watershed project construction
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Building Science, Architecture, or Civil Engineering or related area
  • 5 years of Construction or Project Management related experience
  • Preferred: CCM, PMP, and OSHA 30 Certification
