Job Title: Professional Substation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Substation Engineer to join our design team at Meade Engineering, Inc. (MEI). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing high and medium voltage electrical distribution systems for large scale data center campuses.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on substation design and high voltage electrical distribution. You will work closely with our team of expert engineers, designers, and consultants to deliver high-quality, reliable, and sustainable solutions that meet our clients' specific needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design high and medium voltage electrical distribution systems for large scale data center campuses
  • Develop one-line diagrams, conceptual designs, plan-section drawings, foundation, grounding, specifications, and additional drawings needed to complete a comprehensive set of construction documents
  • Work closely with external vendors, internal design teams, and manufacturers to coordinate major equipment selection and scheduling
  • Lead QA/QC process and sign off on engineering documents
  • Perform substation testing and commissioning as needed
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of Professional Substation Engineering design experience designing high/medium voltage power distribution, physical design, transmission line design, etc.
  • Valid P.E. license and Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience working independently, managing priorities, and providing mentorship to junior staff
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes
  • Ability to think strategically and demonstrate flexibility in order to achieve long-range objectives
