Job Title: Lead Preschool Teacher

University Oaks Preschool is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Preschool Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experiences of our young learners.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified and passionate Lead Preschool Teacher to lead our twos and young threes combination class. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Christian education and the ability to effectively incorporate biblical teachings into lessons.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of each child in our class.
  • Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
  • Plan and conduct daily activities that support age-appropriate cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Assess and monitor each child's progress and provide regular updates to parents and guardians.
  • Collaborate with assistant teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive team dynamic.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, addressing any concerns or questions promptly.
  • Ensure a safe and clean classroom environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Strong commitment to the Christian faith with the ability to effectively incorporate biblical teachings into lessons.
  • Minimum 12 core semester units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) that cover the general areas of child growth and development or human growth and development; child, family and community, or child and family; program/curriculum.
  • At least 6 months of relevant experience as a preschool teacher in a licensed childcare center.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and inclusive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
Physical Demands:
  • Proficiency in leading group activities and performing related physical tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry children or objects weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Capability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, push, and pull for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work with 2 and 3-year-old children and handle diaper changing and those who are toilet training.
  • Sharp visual and auditory acuity to respond to critical incidents promptly along with physical agility to navigate emergency situations.
