Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Maintenance Facilities Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for performing manual labor, unskilled and semi-skilled work in the operation of trucks and equipment for a wide variety of job functions in various City departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of manual labor, unskilled and semi-skilled equipment operation
  • Learns to maintain parks, trails, athletic fields, grounds and facilities as assigned
  • Performs maintenance tasks and general labor work within scope of authority and training
  • Learns to assist in the repair and maintenance of parks, fields, playgrounds, trails, irrigation, custodial work and infrastructure
  • Cleans and maintains City parks and restroom facilities
  • Learns to operate and maintain specialized vehicles, tools and equipment
  • Performs warehouse duties when assigned
  • Completes required daily logs and reports

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, and one year of work experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License

Work Environment:

Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, with exposure to hazardous equipment; requires constant physical efforts, and ability to lift and move items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
