Electrical Engineer Job Description

Ranpak is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical designs for our various Automation & Robotics products. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing design solutions for electromechanical machine control, confirming electrical systems and component capabilities, and preparing engineering reports and calculations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop electrical designs for Automation & Robotics products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions meet requirements
  • Design and implement testing plans to confirm electrical system capabilities
  • Prepare engineering reports, calculations, and drawings for completeness and accuracy
  • Interact with vendors and suppliers to select electrical components and subassemblies
  • Troubleshoot equipment as required in-house and at customer facilities
  • Develop operation manuals and other pertinent documentation
  • Responsible for electrical design and panel layout using EPLAN
  • Support prototype builds and releases products into production
  • Responsible for electrical design, development, testing, and reports for new product introduction (NPI) projects
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 7-10 years of related electrical engineering experience
  • PLC programming experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and electrical design
  • Basic understanding of embedded controllers, embedded software, and PLCs for automated machines
  • Familiarity with design and application of various sensor technologies
  • Familiarity with user interface technology, HMIs such as touchscreen displays
