Position Overview:
The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures on patients across all age groups with minimal supervision. This role requires independent judgment and initiative in executing a variety of technical procedures as directed by the Radiologist. Responsibilities include operating diagnostic imaging equipment, processing images, and preparing the examination room with necessary supplies. Additional tasks may involve clerical duties, scheduling, transportation, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness as directed by the Medical Imaging Management Team. Adherence to the Radiation Protection Program, including ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles, is essential to ensure safety for patients, staff, and physicians. Compliance with all regulatory standards from governing bodies is mandatory. The role may also involve supervising students, contingent upon the area supervisor's discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate all radiographic equipment and perform a range of radiological procedures in accordance with departmental standards.
- Ensure accurate patient identification and review orders for consistency with clinical diagnoses.
- Evaluate each examination for technical precision and communicate relevant findings to the Radiologist and care team.
- Demonstrate the ability to prioritize patient care effectively, addressing critical needs first.
- Deliver care in a knowledgeable and consistent manner, adhering to age-specific guidelines from infancy to geriatrics.
- Follow all safety protocols for patient and material handling within the department.
- Maintain a strong understanding of and adherence to the Compliance and Ethics Program.
