Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Corrections Nurse to join our team at the Alaska Department of Corrections. As a Corrections Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to inmates in our facilities across the state.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage and assess patients to provide timely and effective care
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Provide general nursing care to patients, including dressing changes, phlebotomy, and patient education
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records
  • Observe, document, and report changes in patient physical and mental conditions
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care and support
Requirements
  • Demonstrate excellent work habits, including punctuality, attendance, and adherence to safety regulations
  • Knowledge of communicable diseases, immunizations, and tuberculosis screening
  • Knowledge of substance abuse and related treatment options
  • Ability to critically think and function independently in a fast-paced environment
