Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Corrections Nurse to join our team at the Alaska Department of Corrections. As a Corrections Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to inmates in a correctional setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage and assess patients to determine the level of care required
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols
  • Provide general nursing care to patients, including vital sign monitoring and wound care
  • Participate in therapeutic activities to promote patient well-being and rehabilitation
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records
  • Document and report changes in patient condition to healthcare team members
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be knowledgeable about communicable diseases, immunizations, and tuberculosis screening, as well as medication administration and evaluation of responses to medication.
