Job Summary

CAS is seeking a highly skilled Polymer Chemist to join our Content Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for applying scientific expertise to curate high-quality research data from patents and journals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curate Chemical Structure Data: Analyze and collect valuable chemical structure data from patent and journal publications, utilizing CAS indexing policies and your expertise.
  • Extract Key Insights: Leverage your technical knowledge and applicable language skills to extract key insights and build the CAS Content Collection.
  • Knowledge of Chemical Substances: Knowledge of structural descriptions and naming conventions of chemical substances is preferred.
Requirements
  • Advanced Degree in Polymer Chemistry: An advanced degree in polymer/organic chemistry with a focus on polymer synthesis or a related science is preferred. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of related work experience.
  • Language Skills: The ability to read scientific documents in Japanese and/or Korean language skill is desired, but not required.
  • Scientific Reading Comprehension: Excellent scientific reading comprehension and writing skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.
