Position Summary:
The role provides essential daily support to the Management Team while executing various HR administrative functions. Responsibilities encompass employee relations, training initiatives, performance evaluation, attendance monitoring, staffing processes, payroll management, and benefits enrollment. The position also entails various administrative and customer service tasks, ensuring compliance with all plant and OSHA safety standards.
Supervisory Duties:
None.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advises and guides leaders, supervisors, and employees on significant human resources issues and opportunities.
- Champions EHS initiatives within the facility (Safety Committee participation, incident investigations, safety training, etc.).
- Provides comprehensive HR support across all departments regarding recruitment, interviewing, benefits, compensation, and employee relations matters.
- Organizes appointments, coordinates on-site interviews, prepares presentations, and manages confidential staffing documentation.
- Conducts investigations and collaborates with the Human Resources Manager and Director to ensure prompt resolution of employee adherence to company policies.
- Assists management in implementing organizational improvement strategies.
- Facilitates the annual employee survey process and develops action plans for identified gaps.
- Offers support and coaching on various HR-related issues.
- Facilitates succession planning and workforce development initiatives with business units.
- Ensures a Fair, Safe, and Equitable Work Environment.
- Identifies and recommends solutions for workplace improvement initiatives.
- Supports employee recruitment by posting job openings internally.
- Prepares new hire documentation; tracks, follows up, and maintains records.
- Collaborates with the Recruiting Team on background screening processes; tracks, follows up, and documents accordingly.
- Conducts New Hire Orientation, including communicating benefits to all employees and coordinating enrollments.
- Assists in administering the company's 401k plan and related documentation, including enrollments, eligibility, and processes for hardship loans and annual audits.
- Sets up and trains employees on payroll/timekeeping systems and enrollment procedures.
- Processes, tracks, and communicates notifications regarding FMLA and Workers Compensation leaves, issues, and claims.
- Updates and disseminates various HR practices, policies, procedures, laws, and regulations to employees and management.
- Maintains records of incidents and accidents, including the OSHA 300 log as mandated by law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
- Task-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with employees at all organizational levels.
- Ability to quickly establish robust working relationships with business partners and colleagues.
- Effective communication with team members, visitors, and employees in a courteous and tactful manner.
- Strong computer skills with extensive experience in Windows, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Familiarity with Employment Law.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and learning new HR practices.
- Highly organized, accurate, and detail-oriented.
- Proficient in English, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
- Must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience in a Human Resources role.
- Experience with ADP products or similar payroll processing software is preferred.
- PHR/SPHR Certification is a plus.
