Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. As a key member of our financial infrastructure, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing financial statements, overseeing cash flow management, and ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, analyze, and report financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage the company's cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts.
  • Conduct variance analysis to understand the difference between planned and actual figures.
  • Manage the general ledger and ensure all financial data is recorded accurately.
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Lead the cost accounting process, including WIP and inventory accounting.
  • Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process, and provide financial planning support to the management team.
  • Prepare for financial audits and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior company leadership.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA or CMA designation is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in cost accounting, WIP, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.
  • Solid experience in managing and analyzing financial statements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cash flow and prepare accurate financial forecasts.
  • In-depth knowledge of the general ledger system and financial chart of accounts.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting standards and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
