About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team at Ontario Smiles Dentistry and Orthodontics. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinicians in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Clinicians: Assist our clinicians in providing high-quality patient care, including preparing patients for oral examinations and assisting with dental procedures.
  • Patient Care: Provide excellent patient care, including escorting patients to and from the front desk, introducing them to other team members, and communicating with the front and back office teams to ensure efficient scheduling.
  • Operatory Maintenance: Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment, including sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment, and cleaning each operatory in accordance with state infection control guidelines.
  • Tray Setup and Supply Management: Prepare tray setups for dental procedures and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory, replenishing as needed to provide efficient patient care.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and vendors, and work collaboratively with the Lead Dental Assistant to ensure adequate clinical supplies are on hand.
  • Technology and Training: Utilize technology to operate and explain equipment to others, and participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Compliance and Confidentiality: Ensure compliance with company policies, state, federal, and other regulatory bodies, and maintain the confidentiality of patient records.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications: Equivalent to high school diploma or general education degree (GED), and specified training courses as mandated by state for certification, licensure, or registration.
  • Specialty Requirements: Specialty Dental Assistants must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and automobile insurance, and have reliable means of transportation to travel to assigned offices.
  • Preferred Qualifications: One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
