Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Assistant to join our team at Ontario Smiles Dentistry and Orthodontics. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinicians in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Clinicians in providing dental treatment to patients, including preparing patients for exams and procedures, and maintaining a clean and sterile environment.
  • Support Patient Care by escorting patients to and from the front desk, introducing them to other team members, and communicating with the front and back office teams to ensure efficient scheduling.
  • Maintain a Clean and Sterile Environment by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment, and cleaning each operatory in accordance with state infection control guidelines.
  • Prepare Tray Setups for dental procedures and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory.
  • Record Patient Charting and all clinician notes in the digital patient chart.
  • Support Patient Education by instructing patients on postoperative and general oral health care as directed by the clinician.
  • Participate in Team Meetings and contribute to the development of the Perfect Patient Experience (PPE) process.
Requirements
  • Equivalent to High School Diploma or general education degree (GED), and specified training courses as mandated by state for certification, licensure, or registration.
  • Certificates/Licenses/Registrations as mandated by applicable state.
  • Valid Driver's License and automobile insurance (or reliable means of alternate transportation) for Specialty Dental Assistants.
  • Ability to Travel to multiple offices per day, in some cases several times per day, and have reliable means of transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One-Year Certificate from an accredited college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to Respond to Inquiries from patients, staff, vendors, or other members of the business community.
  • Ability to Interpret and Apply Policies and procedures.
  • Ability to Communicate Effectively and present information, both verbally and in writing, to patients and co-workers.
  • Results-Oriented individual capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Customer Service Advocate with excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to Maintain Confidentiality of patient records.
