As a Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer, you will report directly to the Manager of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering. Your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of mechanical systems across campus.
Key Responsibilities
1. **Project Leadership**: Participate in and occasionally spearhead master planning, capital planning, and design management for diverse projects and initiatives.
2. **Collaboration**: Work closely with stakeholders to oversee chilled water, heating, HVAC, and hydronic systems at both the building and regional plant levels.
3. **Infrastructure Development**: Engage in the refinement and long-term planning of campus infrastructure, focusing on energy conservation and carbon neutrality.
4. **Design Management**: Oversee renovation projects for existing campus facilities, managing project scope, timelines, and budgets effectively.
5. **Documentation**: Provide comprehensive drawing and specification documentation for mechanical systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
6. **Consultant Management**: Supervise consultant activities to meet project requirements, including scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
7. **Stakeholder Engagement**: Communicate with facility managers, faculty, and researchers to establish project goals and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
8. **Mentorship**: Assist and guide junior engineers and drafters in completing project tasks and supporting office priorities.
9. **Field Surveys**: Conduct field surveys to document existing mechanical systems and assess their condition and performance.
10. **Regulatory Compliance**: Present and review designs with relevant agencies to ensure adherence to codes and regulations.

Qualifications
