Position Overview:
Choice Hotels is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting to join our Finance department in North Bethesda, Maryland. This pivotal role involves overseeing the Corporate Accounting team, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Manager, you will:

  • Guide and mentor a team of three accountants, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Manage corporate accounting functions, including domestic financial close processes, analysis, and reconciliations.
  • Review and validate financial data, cash flow statements, and footnotes for internal and external reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and internal policies, including critical controls and audit participation.
  • Oversee stock-based compensation accounting, equity, and revenue recognition in line with ASC 606.
  • Contribute to technology upgrades and process improvements, including finance transformation and ERP implementation.
  • Build collaborative relationships across various departments, including Billing, Legal, and Financial Planning.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience; CPA certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 6 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Proficiency in general ledger software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong knowledge of operational accounting, U.S. GAAP, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with financial statement audits and SOX compliance.
  • Familiarity with system implementations and data analysis projects is advantageous.
