Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Supervisor to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process, ensuring quality and efficiency, and leading a team of production colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Provide guidance and direction to production staff to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
    • Develop and empower staff to take ownership of their work and contribute to the team's success.
    • Cultivate relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to build a positive and productive work environment.
  • Production Operations
    • Ensure that established standards, including production, quantity, and quality, are met.
    • Take direct action to correct deviations and report variances and exceptions to the assigned position supervisor.
    • Ensure that all production operations are validated and fully follow all Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
  • Quality and Safety
    • Administer department safety programs to ensure operative personnel understand and follow safety rules and procedures.
    • Follow all job-related safety and other training requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with FDA, QAT, and OSHA regulations.
  • Performance Evaluation and Development
    • Evaluate performance and skills of personnel and communicate same to improve performance and develop skills.
    • Take corrective action when required.
    • Perform annual employee evaluations.
  • Technical Support and Documentation
    • Assist technical staff and customers in technical issues to ensure new transferred processes are robust and validated.
    • Approve process validation protocols.
    • Establish and approve technical requirements for production documentation.
  • Cost Reduction and Efficiency
    • Implement cost reduction programs to stay competitive in the present economy.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Track employee attendance and approve time cards.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree required, in Physical, Biological, Chemical, or Production-related science is preferred.
  • Experience
    • 5+ years of manufacturing experience with 2 years of prior leadership experience required.
    • Experience in a steriles pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Skills
    • Technical and operational knowledge of aseptic processing operations.
    • Ability to handle multiple ongoing activities and prioritize tasks.
    • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Self-starter, mature, independent, and reliable.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
    • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
    • Discretion and independent judgment.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to motivate, energize, and retain key staff.
