About This Role

Job Summary

The Float Pool Registered Nurse is a key position in the Med Surg and/or ICU nursing departments. This role is responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating a treatment plan to achieve the goals of the department.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining overall accountability for assigned patients, understanding patients with critical illness and vent management if in the ICU, and responding to Code Blue within the facility. They will also manage the efficient flow of patients, including screening, preparation for exam, providing general nursing care, and arranging or testing and admissions.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
  • A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
  • Must have at least: two (2) year full time equivalent Acute Care RN experience in designated area - Less than 2 years of experience requires approval by the CNO
