Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanic II Corner Welder to join our team at Baltimore Aircoil. As a key member of our welding department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality corner and connection welds on various types and gauges of sheet metal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welding and Fabrication: Perform water-tight corner and connection welds on sheet metal using MIG welding procedures.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all welds meet the highest quality standards and meet or exceed production goals for shift.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with junior mechanics to train and mentor them in welding techniques and best practices.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety rules and regulations, and ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in welding and fabrication.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Proficient in MIG welding and plasma cutting processes, with a strong understanding of welding symbols and engineering drawings.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this role include lifting up to 50lbs, standing for long periods, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The working environment includes exposure to elevated noise levels, fluctuations in temperature, and intermittent exposure to the weather.
