Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Programmer Analyst to join our team at the Children's Research Institute. As a key member of our interdisciplinary group, you will work closely with a Bioinformaticist in the Morrison Laboratory to develop computational, bioinformatics, and biostatistical projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and analyze problems of limited complexity or assist user personnel in analyzing and defining such problems for computer solutions.
  • Determine methods or approaches; create designs of computer systems to accomplish jobs or select or modify existing programs and systems.
  • Document procedures for systems, computer programmers, and users. Assist in implementing systems and job streams.
  • Develop efficient, fast programming techniques and perform moderately complex programming and debugging.
  • Assist in estimating resources required for projects and planning purposes.
Requirements
  • High school graduation or GED plus successful completion of vocational training in computer programming and three (3) years experience in computer operation and/or programming, including at least one (1) year experience in computer programming.
  • College degree in a related field may be used in lieu of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in using a computer cluster/cloud for parallel computing.
  • Experience in bioinformatic/biostatistical data analysis.
  • Experience in biomedical research.
