Job Summary:

Mimis Cafe is seeking a skilled and experienced Executive Line Cook to join our kitchen team. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes to exacting standards and contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Station Setup and Management: Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies, ensuring a smooth and efficient service.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare food for service, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces, to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Cooking and Collaboration: Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff, ensuring that dishes are prepared to exacting standards and presented to the highest quality.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Answer, report, and follow instructions from the executive or sous chef, and maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Clean up station and take care of leftover food, ensuring that the kitchen remains clean and safe at all times.
  • Inventory Management: Stock inventory appropriately, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available when needed.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion, meeting the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards, ensuring that the kitchen remains compliant with all relevant regulations.

Requirements:

  • Culinary Experience: Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook.
  • Culinary Knowledge: Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Accuracy and Speed: Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks, with a focus on quality and presentation.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry's best practices and a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
