Job Summary

We're looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and develop thermal systems for our linear generator. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll work on designing air and liquid handling systems, developing new concepts, and managing existing concepts through development, deployment, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop thermal systems for our linear generator, including air and liquid handling systems
  • Develop new concepts and manage existing concepts through development, deployment, and manufacturing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing engineering, NPI, and external suppliers
  • Work with reliability and test teams to validate systems and components
  • Develop and optimize key thermal subsystems of the linear generator to drive down cost, improve performance, and deliver high reliability
Requirements
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar engineering field from an accredited institution + 6 years of relevant industry experience or MS + 4 years of relevant industry experience
  • Direct experience designing air or liquid handling systems, with demonstrated engineering fundamentals in thermo-fluid system design
  • Fluent in SolidWorks or comparable CAD package, with experience using PDM or a similar CAD version control system
  • Experience with finite element analysis (structural, thermal, or fluids) and familiarity with 1D or 3D thermal systems design simulation tools
  • Experience working with suppliers to develop and qualify new components, and experience with various manufacturing processes such as sheet metal forming, machining, and plastics molding and forming
