Job Title: Restorative Justice Faculty

Vermont Law School invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Restorative Justice. The successful candidate will have expertise in Restorative Justice and a commitment to racial, social, and economic justice.

Job Summary:

The faculty member will serve as the principal coordinator of the Restorative Justice program, which includes the Master of Arts in Restorative Justice degree and Professional Certificate in Restorative Justice. The person hired will teach one or more Restorative Justice courses, support the creation of new courses, and develop further student engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the Restorative Justice courses, degree, and overall program
  • Teach Restorative Justice course/s
  • Support the creation of new courses, recruit adjunct faculty, and develop further student engagement
  • Mentor students in learning, both inside and outside the classroom
  • Provide timely feedback in the form of assessment, grading, and other requested formats using appropriate campus-provided platforms
  • Fulfill committee and service requirements for all faculty
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. preferred; master's degree required
  • Experience in restorative justice practices
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Demonstrated success in obtaining external program funding
  • Understanding of and appreciation for inclusion, including the ability to work with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds, identities, and viewpoints
